Richard North, formerly a local authority official and then private consultant and journalist spent four years in the European Parliament as research director for a political group.
His involvement in trade issues brought him into mainstream politics and he has stood in two Parliamentary elections, one in Wirral in 1997 and again in South Derbyshire during the 1997 election. He was a Euro-candidate in Yorkshire in June 1999.
Richard works closely with Christopher Booker, a well-known Sunday Telegraph journalist, and has co-authored three books on European issues with him. These are The Mad Officials, The Castle of Lies and The Great Deception. He also published his own book called “The Death of British Agriculture”. He is now a free-lance political analyst, specialising in policy development an EU issues.
